Shared Roots: Medicine and Food Homology
Shared Roots is a short cookbook I created to bring my academic knowledge of Dao Di TCM herbs to the public in a fun, creative way that hopefully transcends cultural boundaries. It includes 6 short recipes inspired by the concept of Medicine and Food Homology “药食同源”, a Chinese concept meaning many foods and medicinal herbs share the same origin. The recipes encompass starters, soups, entrees, and desserts, each utilising a TCM herb. Through the incorporation of TCM herbs into the recipes, I emphasise not using them to cure diseases or for medical purposes, but the importance of taking small steps in daily life to support overall health.
